Yesterday was Digital Learning Day, which encourages students, parents, and educators across the United States to promote the use of technology in schools. Are you interested in a career supporting digital learning? Check out the opportunities below.
- Computers for Youth lives up to its name, working across the country with hundreds of schools to implement digital learning in K-12 classrooms. They are currently hiring for six jobs–including an opening for an Executive Director–in both Los Angeles and New York.
- If you’re looking for an internship with an educational organization, you must go to the Dagobah system…I mean, The George Lucas Educational Foundation. One of their main tenets is technology integration and there are three paid internships available in San Rafael, California.
- If you’re into great titles, apply for the Fab Lab Development Guru position at the Teaching Institute for Excellence in STEM in Cleveland. You’ll help scale an educational model developed at MIT into schools nationwide. If that sounds a little daunting, check out the Computer Science Instructor position posted by the Level Playing Field Institute. It’s just for the summer, and you’ll get to help kids from across California.
- If you have no experience in the educational field but love computers, Idealist still has you covered. Check out the Webmaster position at Health Resources in Action in Boston, or the Digital Action Campaign Manager post from World Post Media in Portland. If you know what Drupal is, you’re probably already qualified to apply for the Drupal Developer at the Council on Foreign Relations. Then again, if you write code for a living, why not work for us?
So get out there, get hired, and start making a difference! There are thousands of jobs posted on Idealist at any given time, so search and see what’s out there. Happy hunting!
