What Random Act of Kindness Has Helped Your Career?

A close up of a thank you note with a daisy next to it

To celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Week (February 9-15), we invite you to share your stories! Specifically, random acts of kindness that have helped you in your career.

A Random Act of Kindness (RAK) can take many different forms:

  • An unexpected yet insightful chat with a stranger in line that results in a job lead
  • A “just because” gift card that you can use to treat others to coffee during informational interviews
  • A compliment on your favorite interview suit that gives you a just-in-the-nick-of-time confidence jolt
  • A smile from a stranger after a bad work day
  • Insert your own here

Why share your RAK story?

Kindness is contagious! As you share and read RAK stories, you will inspire others and be inspired to take small actions that can help make someone else’s (and your) day a little better.

To participate:

Think about the RAKs you’ve experienced and how they may have affected you, even on a small scale. Share your stories throughout the week (until Friday, February 13th) by completing our Random Acts of Kindness form or commenting below. Don’t have any to share yet? Use these next few days to observe how someone’s unexpected RAK impacts you. We look forward to reading your stories and sharing them with the Idealist Careers community on Tuesday, February 17th, Random Acts of Kindness Day in the United States.
