Do you dream of travel, but wonder about how exactly to fit it into your schedule? One way travel without spending all your disposable income is to be strategic about your career. Many positions require travel as a requirement of the job! There are currently 65 job listings on that involve “frequent travel” as a part of the job’s description. Here are some of the open positions that involve international travel, so you can stop dreaming about visiting distant places and make it part of your career!

Fair Trade USA is the nonprofit organization responsible for certifying fair trade products in the United States. They work with US companies and their international suppliers to advocate sustainable development and social responsibility. Right now, they’re looking for a Director of Seafood with experience in Marine Resource Management to join their team in Oakland, CA. International travel is required for this position, as is experience with fishing communities in Asia, Africa, or Latin America.

If you’re interested in helping cultivate trust, empathy and friendship between young people in areas of conflict, check out this Director of International Programs position at friendsforever, a New Hampshire-based organization that serves as a liason between US and International communities. The program has offices in Uganda, Northern Ireland and Israel, and the position requires both domestic and international travel.

The American Jewish Committee’s Asia Pacific Institute is hiring a Senior Program Associate. The institute’s mission is to forge political alliances between Israel, the US, and countries in the Asia Pacific region. Applicants should be familiar with geo-political affairs and global diplomacy. Fluency in an Asian language is a plus, and the position does require international travel.

If you are passionate about keeping young global travelers safe, check out the Risk Management & Safety Coordinator position at Global Glimpse. The organization brings high school students from the US to international locations in order to train in leadership skills and cultivation relationships. The coordinator would help this organization by supporting health and safety protocols for participants. The position is based in Oakland, but would involve periodic travel to partner countries.

Are you an anthropology major with experience in North Africa? Join Moroccan NGO Dar Si Hmad as an Ethnographic Field School Manager.  Being able to communicate in both Arabic and French is a requirement for this position, which will be involved in curriculum development, as well as outreach and execution of programs, with international travel required.
