Summer is a great time to give your career a boost. One of the best ways to do this is by digging into a few good books.

If you need a little help narrowing down your summer reading list, explore a few of the titles and stories we have here.

  • On Idealists In Action, we shared the power of books to transform lives, reviewed some books that have challenged how we think, and looked at a few amazing libraries. Check out the series here.
  • Want a career in marketing and fundraising for social good? On the Nonprofit Marketing Blog, social sector leaders shared their reading lists, many drawing inspiration from unexpected places. For example, Amy Sample Ward, CEO of NTEN has “Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls” by David Sedaris on her reading list because, “I find that when I let my mind truly wander and dive into a story, that I get refreshed in the light-hearted and people-centric side of our work and that refreshed perspective comes through as I draft appeals and think about calls to action.”
  • Want to read something new everyday? Subscribe to websites that curate and create new, interesting content that can help you work and live better. I recommend Brainpickings, Fast Co.Exist, 99u, and Idealist Careers, of course 🙂

What are you reading this summer?
