Who’s Hiring? 7 Orgs to Celebrate on Earth Day

With Earth Day 2017 coming up this Saturday, April 22, we found seven organizations to lift up and celebrate for all of the work that they do to promote a healthy planet for generations to come. And you guessed it; they’re hiring, too!

  • Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), New York, NY

NRDC works to restore the integrity of the elements that sustain life–air, land and water–and to defend endangered natural places, affirming the integral place of human beings in the environment.

  • ClimateWorks Foundation, San Francisco, CA

As a nongovernmental organization working globally, ClimateWorks helps leading funders come together to be more strategic, efficient, and effective in their response to global climate change.

  • Coalition for Clean Air, Los Angeles, CA

The Coalition for Clean Air was founded in 1971, at a time when clean air in California seemed almost unimaginable. Since then, we’ve come far and won many significant victories, having helped to position California as a world leader in strategies to reduce air pollution.

  • Climate Nexus, New York, NY

Climate Nexus is a strategic communications group dedicated to changing the conversation on climate and clean energy solutions in the United States.

  • Growing Up Green Charter School, Queens, NY

Growing Up Green Charter School empowers children to be conscious, contributing members of their community through a rigorous curriculum and an engaging green culture.

  • Earthjustice Headquarters, San Francisco, CA

Earthjustice wields the power of law and the strength of partnership to protect people’s health; to preserve magnificent places and wildlife; to advance clean energy; and to combat climate change.

  • Chesapeake Climate Action Network, Tacoma Park, MD

The Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN) is the first grassroots, nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to fighting global warming in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

Clicked one of these organizations only to find that they’re no longer hiring? To keep you apprised of the latest in social-impact opportunities, all listings on Idealist.org have a predetermined expiration date.

If you’ve missed the boat on opportunities with any of the above organizations, don’t forget to explore current search results for jobs related to climate change and the environment.
