Who’s Hiring? 7 Orgs Looking for Part-Time Employees

Whether you’re looking to supplement a full-time job or you’re considering dipping a professional toe in the nonprofit sector for the first time, a part-time job at a nonprofit organization may be a perfect place to start.

While some organizations hire part-time help for in-office work, there are also plenty looking for part-time, remote support, offering more flexibility in scheduling and location. And if you’re considering a shift to the nonprofit sector, a temporary, part-time job can be a nice way to see if it’s a fit for you before taking the full-time leap.

Here are seven organizations looking for part-time employees:

  1. Anti-Defamation League, Washington, D.C.

The Anti-Defamation League was founded in 1913 “to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all.” Now the nation’s premier civil rights/human relations agency, ADL fights anti-Semitism and all forms of bigotry, defends democratic ideals and protects civil rights for all.

  2. Brooklyn Prospect Charter School, Brooklyn, NY

  4. Goethe-Institut Washington, Washington, D.C.

The Goethe-Institut Washington organizes and supports cultural events that present German culture abroad and that further the transatlantic dialogue regarding today’s challenging questions. Their worldwide focuses include topics such as the role of arts in urban development and the question of how we forge our future within the context of major transformations such as the crisis of democracy, climate change and the digitalization of our everyday life.

  5. Homeless Children’s Playtime Project, Washington, D.C.

The mission of the Homeless Children’s Playtime Project is to nurture healthy child development and reduce the effects of trauma among children living in temporary housing programs in the District of Columbia.
